Call for Papers: 17th issue of the open access journal kommunikation.medien
The latest issue of the open access journal kommunikation.medien invites submissions on the topic of artificial intelligence in communication. This 17th issue sheds light on how generative AI systems are changing the way people communicate, perceive information and shape discourse. From algorithmic moderation in social media and AI-supported journalism to ethical issues and media literacy: the role of AI in communication urgently requires scientific investigation and debate.
Thematic focus
The issue accepts contributions that address the social, cultural and ethical implications of AI in communication. Both empirical and theoretical papers are welcome, addressing questions such as:
- Communicative dynamics and social effects of AI: How does AI influence social interaction and opinion formation in society?
- AI in social media: What influence do algorithmic decisions have on the visibility and dissemination of information?
- AI-supported journalism and media production: What ethical challenges arise from automated content and personalized news?
- Ethical and legal dimensions: What standards are needed to ensure fairness and transparency in AI communication?
- Media literacy and AI: What skills do users need to critically understand AI tools?
- Visual content and deepfakes: How does AI-generated content influence trust in media and the perception of reality?
In addition to the thematic focus, open-topic contributions from communication and media studies are also welcome.
