Cross-border cooperation: The partnership between the University of Salzburg and Untag Surabaya
As part of the internationalisation of higher education, the Department of Communication Science at the University of Salzburg has entered into an important partnership with Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 (Untag) in Surabaya, Indonesia. The signing of memoranda of understanding and a guest lecture by Dr Josef Trappel on the topic of ‘Digital Platform Power Play’ took place. The focus was on strengthening cooperation and exchanging ideas.
Dr Josef Trappel, Head of the Department of Communication Science and Head of the Division Media Politics and Media Economics, sees this partnership as an initiative to promote joint research in the field of human research. He emphasises the importance of cooperation between Untag Surabaya and the University of Salzburg in the search for general topics in the field of communication studies.
In addition to research, Dr Trappel also hopes for a lively cultural exchange between the two universities. He is convinced that the dialogue and cooperation between students and lecturers from both institutions can make a valuable contribution to broadening understanding and enriching the academic communities.
