The study of communication science in Salzburg has undergone major changes in the course of its more than fifty-year history. The initially stronger journalistic-scientific orientation was gradually developed into a broad social-scientific spectrum in teaching and research. At the center of the education is the scientific-theoretical focus, for example, on questions of media development, usage research, cultural comparison, organizational communication or journalism. At the same time, the focus has always been on the professional world and the labor market situation.
