For half a century, the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Salzburg has been engaged in scientific research on socially relevant and current topics, as well as in teaching within the framework of university pre-vocational training. As a result, the department can look back on a rich and varied history. At the same time, we are looking forward to an exciting future in which the process of communication will continue to change.

On the occasion of “50 Years of Communication Studies” at the University of Salzburg, our department’s anniversary event will take place on 07 November 2019. In doing so, we look briefly at the last 50 years, but more critically at the future of the subject and our field. We would like to invite you to join us in our network and to celebrate this anniversary with us as a partner.
