Schreiber & Kuzmanov visit schools: Experience media competence up close

Maria Schreiber was a guest at AHS Kenyongasse last week as part of the ÖAD Science Ambassador initiative together with Karin Kuzmanov.

In the “Muckis, Media and Mental Health” workshop, pupils aged around twelve dealt intensively with the question of when images and videos on social media can be trusted. They developed experiences, knowledge and strategies to promote critical media literacy.

There was a particular focus on body image and beauty ideals, but the role of expertise and artificial intelligence was also discussed. The students also had the opportunity to test their newly acquired knowledge directly with the online quizzes from Saferinternet.at.
