In the Bachelor’s program, students gain an insight into the various fields of research in communication studies (e.g., audiovisual and online communication, journalism or organizational communication). They can deepen their knowledge during their studies.

Zu Beginn Ihres Studiums bekommen Sie eine Einführung in Theorien und Methoden der Kommunikationswissenschaft und lernen Berufsfelder im Bereich von Medien und Kommunikation kennen. Zusätzlich eignen sich Studierende Grundtechniken des wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten und Forschens sowie Theorien an.

You will also acquire skills and competencies in practical media work (journalism, public relations, film, audio, photography) and learn from experts in the field (e.g., ORF, Salzburger Nachrichten, etc.).

In addition, you can set your priorities in the free electives and choose from almost the entire range of courses offered by the University of Salzburg. In this way, you will gain additional qualifications for your future career!

The total volume of the program is 180 ECTS, corresponding to a planned study period of six full-time semesters. Students must complete 144 ECTS in Communication Science and 36 ECTS in free electives.

Das Studium gliedert sich in neun Module. Es beginnt mit einer STEOP, die den Studierenden zur Orientierung dient und deren positiver Abschluss für die Fortführung des Studiums erforderlich ist. Im Rahmen des Bachelorstudiums ist eine facheinschlägige Pflichtpraxis im Ausmaß von 12 Wochen zu erbringen.

Das Studium schließt mit dem „BA“ („Bachelor of Arts“) ab.
