In November 2024, Fudan University’s School of Journalism celebrated its 95th anniversary – an outstanding event that brought together academics and institutions from all over the world. Paris Lodron University Salzburg was also present at the conference “Communication Research Innovation and Talent Cultivation. Collaboration in the Intelligent Era” to celebrate the long-standing partnership with Fudan University. There has been a lively exchange between our institutions for over 12 years – with more than 400 students benefiting from the program during this period. Prof. Peter Winkler and Prof. Josef Trappel from the Department of Communication Studies as well as Peter Mayr from the International Office of Paris Lodron University Salzburg represented our university with exciting presentations. Particularly noteworthy: Prof. Trappel’s analysis of the challenges of the digital platform economy and Europe’s responses to them.
